As parents ourselves, we understand the
challenges parents face when trying to locate
trustworthy and loving care for their children.
What is a Nanny?
A nanny is a an experienced child caregiver. Qualified
nannies are generally trained to provide care and
educational development for children from birth to 7
years. Nannies may be employed on a live-in or
live-out basis, depending upon the domestic
circumstances and preferences of the family. It
should be pointed out, however, that live-out nannies
usually expect to earn more than live-in nannies.
The Role of a Nanny
A nanny should work in partnership with the family,
taking responsibility for the safety and development
of the children. A nanny's specific duties include: the
children's laundry, maintaining cleanliness of
equipment, toys and rooms used by the children, and
if necessary, the preparation of children's meals.
Nannies are also expected to transport children to
and from schools or nurseries. Other activities such
as visits to the swimming pool and library would also
be the responsibility of the nanny so as to promote
the social and educational development of the
children.
A nanny is not normally required to undertake general
household duties unless this is specifically agreed
upon within the job description.
How many Hours does a Nanny/Caregiver
typically work?
Most nannies usually work between 20
and 50 hours per week.
What can I expect to pay a professional
live- out nanny?
Depending on the area, and total years of
experience, live-out nannies' salaries average
between $12-18 per hour.
What can I expect to pay a professional live-in
nanny?
The fee is negotiable and is contingent on the
benefits provided in the arrangement.
What is the replacement policy if my
nanny doesn't work out?
We work hard to avoid replacing a nanny by
performing monthly evaluations and closely
monitoring their performance. However, if a
replacement of the nanny becomes necessary
during the guarantee period we will conduct a FREE
2nd search for you to locate another caregiver at
no additional fee, this is per your contract terms
with Nannies and Much More.
